Process
Inspection, pressure cleaning, rebedding, pointing and membrane systems — the actual sequence of a Brisbane roof restoration, not the brochure version.
A membrane cannot resurrect rotten battens, a collapsed valley or a roof that is already moving. Some Brisbane houses need a different sentence — replacement, structural work, or a refusal to paint over a leak.

A roof membrane is a film with a thickness, a weather window and a batch number. Thin paint on a Brisbane tile is a colour. The old trade specified a sealer and two heavy acrylic coats because the climate does not respect a stain.

Ridges fail before tiles do. Flexible pointing, a bed that still has sand in it, and a crew willing to lift the caps are the difference between a restoration and a membrane stretched over a joint that will walk in the next storm.

A pressure washer is a tool, not a personality. On Brisbane tiles the difference between a clean roof and a broken one is PSI, distance, the clay or concrete under the nozzle, and whether anyone thought about the gutters and the solar glass.
Tom Birtles · 2 April 2025
The old trade sold a tidy sequence and a two-to-three-day finish. On a real Brisbane roof the order still holds, but the weather, the timber and the last crew's shortcuts decide whether it is honest work or a brochure.
